FSSAI Tightens Storage and Transport Requirements for Perishable Foods

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has reportedly issued an advisory directing food businesses to maintain prescribed temperature and hygiene conditions while storing and transporting khoa, paneer, meat and fish. This is important because improper handling can promote microbial growth, spoilage and food contamination, posing risks to public health. The advisory requires businesses to follow prescribed food safety practices during storage and transportation to minimise contamination risks.
