Retailers to procure medicines only from authorised distribution channels only

The Bangalore District Chemists and Druggists Association has reportedly urged retailers to procure medicines only from authorised stockists and legitimate distribution channels amid an ongoing investigation into alleged counterfeit, relabelled and repackaged medicines. Retailers have also been advised to verify invoices, batch numbers, expiry dates and manufacturer details. The association’s advisory is not itself a new statutory requirement.
