Parliamentary panel calls for comprehensive national strategy on chronic kidney disease

A parliamentary standing committee has urged the Health Ministry to develop a comprehensive national strategy for chronic kidney disease, focusing on prevention, early detection, treatment and long-term care. It flagged severe shortages of nephrologists, urologists and trained dialysis technicians, recommending stronger primary healthcare and trained physicians to supervise dialysis units.
