NPPA caps trade margins at 30% for 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has capped trade margins at 30% for 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs under Paragraph 19 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. The revised prices will take effect from 9 November 2026.

Manufacturers must calculate revised maximum retail prices (MRPs) using the prescribed formula based on the March 2026 price to stockists or distributors.  Manufacturers must submit revised price details to NPPA and the relevant State Drug Controller within seven days of publication. They must also maintain existing production levels and notify NPPA before reducing production or discontinuing a product. Non-compliance may lead to recovery of overcharged amounts with interest.
