Common EPR portal registration made mandatory for plastic packaging producers, importers and brand owners

The Central Pollution Control Board has directed producers, importers, brand owners, manufacturers, sellers and plastic waste processors covered under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, to register on the Common EPR Portal. The move is important as covered entities cannot conduct business without registration. Stakeholders must now complete portal registration before carrying out operations.
